Ridge Soaring in Utah

Kim and I had the opportunity to participate in some ridge soaring in Utah.

Very nice footage of that ridge, i’ve must been close by that spot in ’92 , only by car , travelled trough the valley of gods towards the monument valley.

I fly a a similar plane ( a hoffman dimona ) but the canopy opens different ( impossible to open during flight ) , but still wonders, doesn’t that increase your drag dramatically ??
